Generationally fueled views on Inflation

New inflation numbers were released today by the BLS and they were higher than expected. Since last November we have been tracking how Americans feel about the causes of inflation asking how much is due to bad policy and how much is due to world events.

Overall the split between the two has been relatively even over the past eight months, but when you look into the numbers we see a clear sign of movement towards World events being the bigger driver.

Overall the issue is seen as a big deal, but that view is being driven by politics (naturally) but even more so is age. Boomers think inflation is a really big deal Gen X and Millennials have a different view.

As is the case with so many issues these days, disinformation appears to be a big driver of opinions when it comes to inflation and the causes of it.
