CASE STUDY

National Football League Players Association

OVERVIEW

With growing concern over players’ mental and physical health, discussions around player protests, and an upcoming collective bargaining agreement, the NFLPA wanted to understand how their members were doing throughout the season, as well as be able to get a read on where players were on topical events.

APPROACH

Trendency worked with the NFLPA to determine the initial questions needed for a successful engagement, including questions to track throughout the season and a set of more topical questions.

Trendency worked with the NFLPA to set up the survey so that players accessed it through their individual secured NFLPA membership accounts.

RESULTS

At the conclusion of the season, the NFLPA was armed with a detailed understanding of how their members’ opinions and moods had shifted over theseason. The ability to look at the responses by team, position, and years in the league provided valuable insights and allowed the association to better address future concerns.

Using Trendency, the NFLPA got a longitudinal understanding of how their players were faring throughout the season. The multi-directional data allowed the association to better understand why players arrived at their opinions and beliefs.
