Americans' Perspectives on Resolving the Israel-Hamas Conflict

Starting in October, we began to gauge the views of Americans as they watched the events of this year’s conflict between Israel and Hamas unfold. Our initial findings found that there were deep divides when it comes to interpreting these events in the Middle East, especially by age - with older generations tending to side more with Israel and younger generations feeling more sympathetic towards Palestinians.

We updated this research for this month’s newsletter, and found that many of these divisions persist into the second full month of fighting. We also found that there is a correlation between how much someone is paying attention to these events and how they interpret what’s going on.
