Welcome to Trendency's 2026 World Cup Prediction contest. This is a little different than most prediction games since we take this round by round and give everyone an opportunity to change their overall prediction of who is going to win the tournament.

We are also asking you to pick who you think will win the whole thing. If you stick with that team throughout, and they win, you will get 40 points. If you change your choice later in the tournament, that is fine, but you will get fewer points.

We are now in the semi-finals! Be sure to use the buttons above to see the leaderboard following the quarterfinals and to access your picks for the semi-finals, which start on July 14.

For the semi-finals, if you pick the favorite and they win, you get 12 points; if you pick the underdog and they win, you get 18 points.

As a reminder of how it's worked so far:

-For Round One (the group state) everyone picked the order they thought the group would end in (1 through 4). For each correct pick you got 3 points, if you picked a team to come in 1 or 2 and they ended up in the top two, but not in the correct place, you got one point. Same for a team you picked to end up 3rd or 4th. The best you could do in Round 1 is 12 points per group, and with 12 groups there were a total of 144 possible points.

-For Round 2 (the round of 32) you pick the team you think will win for each matchup. If you pick the favorite, and they win, you get 3 points, if you pick the underdog, and they win, you get 5 points.

-For the Round of 16 you pick the team you think will win for each matchup. If you pick the favorite, and they win, you get 5 points, if you pick the underdog, and they win, you get 8 points.

-After the Round of 32, everyone will pick the Round of 16, the semi-finals, etc.

-For the quarterfinals, if you pick the favorite and they win, you get 8 points, if you pick the underdog and they win, you get 12 points.
